Fourth of July Holiday Hours!

Genesis Pediatrics will be CLOSED on Monday, July 4th in observance of the Fourth of July holiday. Early Closing February 16, 2016

Monroe County has issued a travel advisory, urging residents to avoid any unnecessary travel. For the safety of our patients, their families, and our staff, Genesis Pediatrics will be closing the office today at 2:00pm. Please stay warm and safe!

Does Your Child Need A School-Required Physical?

Just a reminder that school requires physical examinations and specific vaccinations upon entering certain grade levels.  Upon entering Kindergarten:  Physical examination required. DTaP and IPV vaccines (if not yet received at 4 year well child check) Upon entering 4th Grade: Physical examination required. CDC Health Advisory for Influenza – February 1st

On February 1st, the CDC released an official health advisory stating that Influenza activity is increasing across the country and they has received reports of severe influenza illness, including fatalities.  Since October 2015, CDC has detected co-circulation of influenza A(H3N2), A(H1N1)pdm09, and influenza B viruses (all of which are contained in this year’s flu vaccine). 2016-2017 Meningitis Vaccine School Requirements

New York State will be implementing the following meningitis vaccine (Menactra) requirements for the 2016-2017 school year:  Prior to entering 7th grade, student must receive the 1st dose of the meningitis vaccine.  Prior to entering 12th grade, student must receive the booster dose of the meningitis vaccine.*
