January 2019 was National Poverty Awareness Month. Approximately 44% of all children in the city of Rochester are living in poverty.
The Helping Hands Food Pantry at Genesis Pediatrics serves our patient families who are in need.
The University of Rochester’s Center for Perioperative Medicine is part of the Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine. Every month the clinic organizes a “Wear Jeans Day” and all donations are used to support a local cause. The clinic decided to join the outreach initiative spearheaded by the Helping Hands Food Pantry at Genesis Pediatrics, and was able to donate 22 pre-filled bags of food. In addition, Wegmans donated the reusable bags to sort and deliver the donations.
We thank them for this generous donation to our food pantry!
Camp season is here! If your child needs a camp form completed, please submit it as soon as possible.
Longer turnaround times are expected due to increased summer volume.
Forms can be uploaded through the Patient Portal and will be returned there once completed. Please ensure that all pertinent information is filled out prior to sending or else it will be returned to the caregiver.
Submitting early helps us ensure your child is ready for summer fun!
